Birthday Boys

Jake and Jeff both celebrated their birthday recently.  Here are some picts of the festivities:

It was a LEGO birthday!  I can't believe my baby turned SEVEN!

Jake insisted on wearing this silly hat the whole day!

Jake also requested that both sets of grandparents decorate cookies on his big day.
Happy 36th to Jeffry!

Every year I am reminded what wonderful man I married. He is man of God, a wonderful husband, father, and all around fantastic person. How I got so lucky don't know. I thank the Lord daily for him!

A Taste of France

We had a unique treat in September with some of our friends Matt, Heather, & Trinity and Jeremy & Kristen. Jeremy grew up in France, his parents are Christian missionairies.

Jeremy and his wife Kristen, treated us to Raclette which is a dish native to parts of France. The Raclette cheese round is heated, either in front of a fire or by a special machine, then scraped onto diners' plates. Ours of course was a done with a groovy little machine we used to melt the cheese.

The cheese is brought to the table sliced, accompanied by platters of steamed potatoes, other vegetables, french bread & deli meats. These are then mixed with potatoes and topped with cheese in the small, wedge-shaped coupelles that are placed under the grill to melt and brown the cheese. We mostly took the slices of melted cheese and simply poured over food on the plate. It was sinfully delicious!!!

Dessert consisted of crepes, fresh fruit, & nutella. I bet we injested thousands of calories, but it was FABULOUS!! Thanks Jer and Kristen!
Jeff and I are the old ones of this bunch. On the right is Jeremy and Matt, Jeff and on the left are Heather and Kristen, these early to mid twenty somethings must think Jeff and I are way over the hill! Great friends! Lots of fun!

Jacob and Trin!!! Trin wanted to make sure Jake saw her new outfit! She is a cutie pie!

Great Ladies Turning 80!

In August we celebrated my GREAT AUNT Lynette's 80th birthday and in September we celebrated my AUNT Valeen's 80th birthday. These two fabulous ladies have been my syrogate Grandma's since 1992 when my Grandma Jan died. These two attended Ogden High School together back in the day. If you know my family, it really dosen't fork. My parent's grew up three blocks away from eachother and in the same ward since my Mom was about nine or ten years old. My mother is the second oldest of 9 (my grandma had my mother when she was seventeen), my Dad was the third of four children (my grandfather was about fourty-four when he was born) and that is why there is a generation inbetween two women on seperate sides of my family that are the same age.....Confused yet????Good. Here are these great ladies on these great occasions.

Karen Jones Clark with her Aunt Lynette Fronk Weller. Love these two ladies!

Valeen Clark Wood. Love this crazy, sassy woman!

Scandelous!
This is me and my Clark cousin Kenlon. He came and hung out at our house after my Aunt Valeen's party. Ken and his brother Cameron are my favorite cousins that are closest to my age (boy cousins anyway). Ken lives in LA and works in the movies, this crazy kid just did a bunch of editing for none other than Paula Abdul. Some day soon we'll say we knew him when........Love ya Ken!

Jake the fish!!!

So much to update!!! Here are some pictures and video of Jake at swimming lessons. We are sad that North Davis Gymnastics will no longer have a pool and these one on one lessons are no longer available. They are tearing it down for the new freeway interchange in Layton. My favorite part was Jake yelling "Cannon Ball," every time he jumped in the pool. Jake loves to be in the water and LOVES swimming lessons!
